2. WELLINGTON MAJORETTES
Wellington Majorettes was formed in 1976 by Brian Smith. Brian organised the SOUTH WEST MAJORETTES CHAMPIONSHIPS, which later became the Wellington Majorettes May Day Jamboree which had over 26 troupes attending every year performing in various sections from Military marching with band or with taped music to senior and junior performances and solos for Miss trouper and Drummers. The troupe grew and grew and it was time for the younger members and older memebrs to have separate training session, this is when Harry Preston stepped in to help Brian. Harry trained the younger members with the intention that they would progress to Wellington Majorettes, they called themselves Red Arrow Majorettes and as time went on Wellington Majorettes and Red Arrow Majorettes became 2 seperate troupes.
