Our Chinese Furniture
Our Chinese furniture very much speaks for itself - antique wine tables, cabinets, chairs, coffers, altar tables, screens, window carvings, paintings - all lovingly restored to the highest quality.
We have also stock several new furniture designs using antique pieces - like our sandalwood horse-saddle tables, and lattice inlay beds.
Why not try having a Chinese wedding cabinet converted into a TV/Computer Cabinet or Hanging Wardrobe?
In addition our range of Tibetan furniture is very popular
We have pride and confidence in the pieces we sell, sentiments we want you as our customers to share. Past customers have come from Canada, America, France and Portugal, and thus we have a great deal of experience in shipping to a wide range of countries.
We are based in Devon, South West England but can deliver anywhere in the UK and have weekly deliveries to the London area.
We invite you to share our love of anything oriental.
Profile
Willy and Caroline, owners of The Dragon and The Phoenix, welcome everyone viewing this site and are proud to offer Chinese furniture that is beautiful, practical and, above all, affordable.
Those of us already acquainted with the shop and its wide range of antique Chinese furniture and accessories, as well as those who encounter it for the first time, cannot but be impressed by their integrity and enthusiasm. It appears strange to a lot of folk that they would choose South Molton as their base. However, when you meet this very personable couple and visit the historical town you can begin to understand.
Combining a superb range and Willy and Caroline's personal service, The Dragon and The Phoenix has aroused much admiration and attention. This small specialist retail outlet has established a name for the unusual and decorative as well as for its more high-class traditional collection.
Whether you have a business-related enquiry or need more information on this region of outstanding natural beauty and interest, please do not hesitate to make contact.
More about South Molton - the "Gateway to China"!
The market town of South Molton, the "Gateway to Exmoor", is one of Devon's most attractive towns and an area with a deep-rooted sense of history. Granted its Borough Charter by Elizabeth I in 1590, and with origins that predate the Domesday Book, it is the home of "The Dragon and the Phoenix".
An old fashioned town of about 4,500 people, situated 12 miles from Barnstaple, North Devon and on the fringe of Exmoor, it is one of the least-changed towns in the UK. Admired as one of the last remaining truly rural areas of Britain, it is officially recognised as unspoilt. There are no multi-national companies and businesses are predominantly traditional and family-run, priding themselves on good old-fashioned standards and the personal touch.
